粘土を手で押し広げながら形づくる「玉作り」という技法で制作される田中さん。

手の痕跡を感じるやわらかな造形は、この技法ならではの魅力です。

今回ご案内状に掲載した新たな形の茶壺も、玉作りによって生み出されたもの。

やわらかな輪郭のどこか有機的な佇まいに、魅力を感じていただけることと思います。

田中さんは大学で陶芸を学んだのち、ギャルリ百草にて安藤雅信氏に師事され、独立後の現在は、岐阜県中津川にて制作をされています。白の表現を軸としながらも、新たな表情を追求し続ける田中さん。本展でも、その歩みをご覧いただけます。

控えめで上品な輝きをみせる銀彩、やわらかな茶のグラデーションが美しい白橡釉、そして土の質感をより深く感じさせる杏黄釉…豊かな自然に囲まれた土地で暮らしの中から感じ取ったことを、細やかに作品へと映し出しています。

展示は小暑を迎える頃。白の中に仄かに青みを感じる白菫釉のうつわからは、束の間の涼やかさを感じていただけましたら幸いです。西洋や東洋の骨董を思わせる要素が自然に溶け合う造形にも、ぜひ目を留めてみてください。

本展では、中国茶を愛する田中さんの世界観に触れていただける機会として、素果子 半田葉子さんによる「茶果の会」も開催いたします。田中さんの茶器とうつわを使いながら、お茶とお菓子を楽しむひととき。作品とともに流れる穏やかな時間を、ゆっくりとお過ごしいただければと思います。

田中直純 naozumi tanaka

1985年 埼玉県生まれ

2007年 京都造形芸術大学 美術工芸学科 陶芸コース卒業

卒業後、ギャルリ百草に入社。陶作家・安藤雅信氏に師事

2019年 独立

現在、岐阜県中津川市にて作陶する

Tanaka creates his work using a hand-building technique known as tamazukuri, in which clay is gradually shaped by pressing and expanding it with the hands. The soft forms that retain traces of the maker’s touch are among the distinctive qualities of this method. The newly developed teapot featured on our exhibition announcement was also created using this technique. We hope you will be drawn to its gentle contours and quietly organic presence.

After studying ceramics at university, Tanaka apprenticed under Masanobu Ando at Gallery Momogusa. He now works independently in Nakatsugawa. While white remains central to his practice, he continues to pursue new expressions and possibilities within his work. This exhibition offers an opportunity to experience that ongoing evolution.

Living amidst the rich natural surroundings of his home, Tanaka carefully translates the impressions and observations of daily life into his work. We also invite you to take note of the forms themselves, where elements reminiscent of both Western and Eastern antiques blend together with remarkable ease and naturalness.

Naozumi Tanaka

1985 — Born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.

2007 — Graduated from the Ceramics Course, Department of Fine Arts and Crafts, Kyoto University of Art and Design.

After graduation, joined Gallery Momogusa and studied under ceramic artist Masanobu Ando.

2019 — Established his independent practice.

Currently lives and works in Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

[ 素果子 半田葉子さんによる茶果の会 ]

初日10日（金）には、素果子 半田葉子さんによる田中直純さんの器でお茶と菓子をお召し上がりいただける「茶果の会」を開催いたします。植物性素材を活かした季節の菓子とそれに合うお茶を、田中さんの器でごゆっくりとお楽しみください。※満席となりました

自然に寄り添い、素材にこだわった植物性菓子の創作を軸に、商品開発やレシピ監修、中国茶・台湾茶と菓子の会「茶果の会」、食と暮らしを整えるためのお話会や提案などを行う。季節の移ろいや自然との調和を大切にしている。
